We explain documents. We are not a law firm, we can be wrong, and you should check anything that matters against the original — which is why we always link to it.

What you can expect

A best effort at an accurate, plain-English reading of a document, with the source wording attached so you can verify it. We publish our grading formula so you can judge whether you agree with it.

What we cannot promise

Analyses are generated with AI assistance and can contain mistakes: a clause misread, a clause missed, a nuance flattened. Documents also change without notice, and a page here may be describing an older version — every page shows the date it was last read. Do not rely on this service for a decision that matters without checking the original document, and take legal advice where the stakes justify it.

Grades are opinion

A grade is our opinion, formed by applying the published formula on our methodology page to clauses we quote in full. It is not an allegation that any company has broken the law. Terms that are entirely standard for an industry can still grade poorly here, because we grade from the reader's side of the table.

Using the service

• Do not use it to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights.
• Do not hammer it with automated requests; there are rate limits and we will enforce them.
• Do not upload documents you have no right to share with us.

Your account

You can close your account at any time and take your data with you. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to harm other people.

Changes

If we change these terms we will say so on this page and date it. It would be a poor look for us, of all services, to change the deal quietly.
